Liturgist sign up

Have you ever heard someone at church use the term “liturgist” and wondered, “What is that?”  Well, a liturgist is a worship leader.  Our English word “liturgy” comes from two Greek words meaning “the work of the people” – pointing out that the people of God share together in worship.  Therefore, a liturgist is usually a lay person, rather than an ordained pastor.  He or she leads the congregation in the ritual speaking portions of a worship service.  At our church, this responsibility includes reading a Call to Worship, an Opening Prayer, and a Scripture passage.  Individuals who are already serving as a liturgist may sign up on this page for future service dates.  If you are interested in joining this rotation, please contact Pastor Sherri for more information: PastorSherri@gumonline.org.
