Rebellion

A scheduled event for “Rebels” to attend. May be social, spiritual, or service oriented. Most often on Sunday nights from 6:30-8pm.

Small Groups

A small group of youth (matched together by age and gender) and one or two cool leaders brought together for the purpose of fun and spiritual study. These groups meet twice per month unless otherwise noted by your small group leader.

Youth Sunday School

9:15am in the youth room. Sunday Mornings. Spiritual study, prayer and discussion. Questions welcome. Games, activities and continental breakfast in our sweet youth kitchen.  Come check it out.

YAC (Youth Advisory Council)

This is an awesome team of youth, leaders and parents who work in conjunction with our Youth Director to shape the direction of our youth program! They meet bi-monthly to plan, organize, make decisions, and evaluate events and programs here at GUMC for youth.

Prayer Partners

Youth sign up to be paired up with an adult in the congregation. This adult commits to pray for you on a regular basis for one year.

Music Ministries

Signs of God

If you can’t dance, but love to move to music…this might be the perfect group for you. This group uses sign language and music to praise God and communicate His love. Rehearsals are Sunday evenings 5:30-6:30pm. By the way…some of them CAN dance.

Church Choir

If you are in SR. high, you are welcome to join the church choir. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings and they sing weekly during the 9:15am service.

Fall and Winter Retreats

A time to get away with friends from church (friends from other places are welcome too) to bond, relax, and grow spiritually. Past highlights from retreats include: Glow in the dark football, zip line, high ropes and a polar bear swim.

Mission Trips

When does 20 hours in a van fly by? Travel to another part of the country with the REBELS! You never knew a road trip could be so much fun or go by so quickly. This is one of THE most spiritually extreme, exercises in selflessness, fun and faith that you will ever experience! Worried about the cost? See below!

Our 2010 trip is to Wind River Native American Reservation in Wyoming.  June 18/19 through 26/27. (Exact travel dates still to be determined by our leader team)

Personal Youth Accounts (The Answer you have been waiting for!)

Strapped for cash? We know that several youth events throughout the year cost some $bucks$...and some of you have no way of earning them. Problem solved! We have several fundraisers throughout the year to help you BANK money. Money YOU raise through a fundraiser will be set aside FOR YOU to spend on youth events of your choice.

Volunteer Opportunities

Want to get involved as a volunteer at GUMC? There are 3 ministries that could use your help on Sunday mornings!

  1. The Children’s Ministry – help in Sunday school class for the “little kids”

  2. The Nursery Ministry – our cute babies always love having someone to play with!

  3. Ushers and Greeters – you could assist with handing out bulletins, taking the offering, or greeting folks at the door. (See Mike or Kayla Cole 581-9559 for more info.)
