It’s been a joy to get to know many of you and to begin feeling more at home with you! I’m looking forward to meeting the folks who will be returning to “regularly scheduled” church in the fall. I’m also looking forward to connecting with our Sunday morning visitors.
Some of the visitors who have been here on Sundays over the last few weeks are friends from congregations that I’ve served in the past. Without exception they’ve told me how friendly you are! One of them has been purposely visiting many different worship services this summer, as a learning experience. Here’s what he had to say: Just so you know, the welcome I received at GUM was by far the warmest I have received on my summer hiatus visits.
So give yourselves a pat on the back! Keep up the good work, especially as we receive September visitors who may be looking for a church home. Your gracious welcome may be exactly what someone needs in order to connect with God as part of a faith community.
